Pet Care

Pet Care Policies & Safety

These are the terms that apply to pet care services. You acknowledge them when you submit a request. If anything is unclear, text me before booking and I'll explain it.

  1. 1.Customer responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate information about your dog, including health, behavior, and vaccination status. You are responsible for supplying enough food, medication, and supplies for the length of the service. Please tell me about anything that could affect your dog's safety or the safety of others.

  2. 2.Vaccinations

Dogs must be current on rabies vaccination, and current on distemper and bordetella where your veterinarian recommends them. Please have your veterinarian's contact information and rabies documentation available. Services that bring dogs together may require proof before the first visit.

  3. 3.Behavioral screening

Every dog is screened before its first service. I ask about temperament, behavior around other dogs and children, and any bite history or aggression. I may decline or end a service when a dog's behavior creates a safety risk for the dog, other animals, or people.

  4. 4.Meet and greet

A short meet and greet may be required before the first walk, drop-in visit, boarding stay, or daycare day. It gives your dog a chance to get comfortable and gives us a chance to review routines, feeding, medications, and access to your home.

  5. 5.Emergency veterinary authorization

In an emergency, I will attempt to reach you and your emergency contact first. If I cannot reach either and your dog needs urgent care, you authorize me to seek veterinary treatment, including transport to a veterinarian of my choosing if your regular veterinarian is unavailable. You agree to be responsible for the cost of that care.

  6. 6.Medication administration

I can follow written instructions for routine oral or topical medication when you provide them. I am not a veterinary professional and do not administer injections, IV medications, or treatments requiring clinical judgment. Please ask before the service if you are unsure whether I can help.

  7. 7.Owner-provided food and supplies

Please provide your dog's food, leash, collar or harness, waste bags, crate if needed, and any medication for the full length of the service. I will follow your feeding and care instructions as written. Unused food and supplies are returned with your dog.

  8. 8.Cancellations

Each service lists its own cancellation window, shown when you request it. Canceling inside that window, or not being available at the agreed time, may be treated as a completed service. Cancellations made with enough notice are never charged.

  9. 9.Late pickups

For boarding and daycare, please pick up within the agreed window. If you are running late, text me as soon as you can. A late pickup may be charged as an additional day or night of care.

  10. 10.Dog safety

Please have your dog secured or ready at the agreed time. Dogs are kept on a leash during walks unless you have given written permission otherwise. I use reasonable care at all times, and I will not take on a service I believe is unsafe for your dog.

  11. 11.Severe weather

Unsafe conditions, including lightning, flooding, extreme heat or cold, or icy roads, may require rescheduling a walk or visit. I will contact you as early as possible and we will reschedule. A service I cannot safely perform is never charged.

  12. 12.Service refusal

I reserve the right to decline or end a service at any time if a dog shows aggression, if a home is unsafe or inaccessible, or if the care described is different from what was agreed. If a service ends early, unused prepaid amounts are refunded.

  13. 13.Emergency contacts

Please provide an emergency contact who can make decisions about your dog if I cannot reach you. Keep this contact current, especially before a boarding or vacation care booking.

  14. 14.Home access procedures

For services at your home, you choose how I get in: a lockbox code, a key, a garage code, or being present. Access details are shared with me privately and are never published. I lock up after every visit and will tell you right away if anything about access changes.

  15. 15.Liability and insurance

Boro Poop and Scoop carries insurance for the services it currently provides. Coverage for boarding and daycare is being verified and those services will not accept bookings until that review is complete. Nothing here should be read as a claim of coverage beyond what is confirmed at the time you book.

Services not yet accepting reservations

Overnight boarding and doggy daycare are not yet open for bookings. Requirements are being verified first. Until those services are activated, no boarding or daycare reservation or payment can be made through this site.
